Gold Beach Oregon (Rogue River maps below) Thursday, May 15 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Testing Lex's Landing Race boat testing is open from the 101 Patterson Bridge to Elephant Rock.
Friday, May 16 4:00 pm Registration, Tech In, Boat Show Curry County Fairgrounds All participants and boats are required to attend this event. All boats must be at the Curry County Fairground by 4 pm for official inspection. Drivers, Navigators, and Captains must be present for official registration between 4pm – 6pm. Boats will be available for removal at 8 pm. The Fairground facility is indoors and will be locked with security that night so any participant interested in leavinga boat there until morning would be fine in doing so. Beginning at 5:00 pm, the general public is invited to join the Trex 2008 World Championship Jet Boat and Cal-Ore Hydroplane racers for an evening of fun. The Trex Jet Boats and Cal-Ore Hyrdoplanes will be on display in the Curry County Fairgrounds Arena beginning at 5:00 pm. Food and a beer garden will be available until close. The Ferguson Brothers band will play live music beginning at 6:00 pm, take a break during the Calcutta at approximately 9:00 pm and resume immediately after. Friday, May 16 8:30 pm Start Position Drawing Curry County Fairgrounds At approximately 8:30pm a drawing will be held for Day 1, Leg 1 start positions. Each team’s Race Captain must be present to draw a number. The drawing will take place in order of class and registration. Class order will be; - RedRum Unlimited

Friday, May 16 8:30 pm Public Calcutta Curry County Fairgrounds A public Calcutta will be held immediately following the start position drawing. Saturday, May 17 10:30 am Cal-Ore Hydroplane Race Gold Beach to Agness Cal-Ore Hydroplane river racers will race from Lex's Landing upstream to Squaw Bar in Agness and back. For the racers' safety, the river section between Lex's Landing and Squaw Bar will be closed from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Sunday, May 18 9:00 am Gold Beach to Foster Bar Rogue River 32 miles Leg 1 Drivers meeting 8:00 am at Lex’s Landing Leg 1 in Gold Beach will begin at 9:00am with mass starts of boats traveling upstream to Foster Bar. Starting position will be determined by a drawing at registration Friday, May 16th. The staging area will be marked in accordance with the dock at Lex’s Landing. The upstream end of the dock will mark the start line and the downstream end of the dock will mark the rear of the staging area. Buoys will be place parallel to the dock ends in the river to create an entire staging area box. The finish line at Foster Bar will be marked with appropriate buoys. All boat ramps upstream from the staging area will be closed 5 minutes prior to the first official start time. A 15 minute penalty will be assessed to any boat that does not comply. Group starting times will be 2 minutes apart. Starting positions 1 – 8 will begin at 9:00am, group 9 – 16 will be at 9:02am, group 17 – 24 will start at 9:04am, etc, etc. Boats will be required to enter the staging area and be off of plane 30 seconds before their assigned start time. Boats who fail to do so will be assessed a 5 minute penalty to their official time of the Leg. If a boat is in the staging area on time, but fails to cross the start line and enter the course 1 minute after their assigned start time, that boat must exit the staging area to allow the following groups full opportunity of a successful start. Upon the flag drop of the final official starting time, boats that missed their assigned start times can re-enter the staging area and attempt to enter the course again. Failure to exit the staging area (if the boat has not crossed the designated start line) 1 minute after that boat’s official start time and wait for the final flag drop will result in a DNS plus a 15 minute penalty. Any boat that crosses the start line within the allocated time will be considered on the course and may continue. This course will contain class level I, II, and III sections. ** No boats will be allowed to leave the Foster Bar Campground and there will be no refueling between Legs 3 &4. A 20 minute penalty will be assessed to any boat caught. ** Note to the public: The Rogue River from Lex's Landing to Foster Bar will be closed from 8:45 am to apprixmately 10:00 am or when the designated sweep boat passes. Sunday, May 18 1:00 pm Foster Bar to Gold Beach Rogue River 32 miles Leg 2 Drivers meeting 12:15pm at Foster Bar Leg 2 will begin at Foster Bar racing downstream to Lex’s Landing. The Staging box will be completely marked by the appropriate buoys. Boats will start downstream at 1:00pm in order of the fastest upstream time through the slowest time regardless of class. Start times will be 1 minute apart. Boat removal at the finish line is recommended to be at the Port of Gold Beach. If a boat is to be removed from Lex’s Landing boat ramp, U.I.M. rule 900.12(2) will apply. This course will contain class level I, II, and III sections. Note to the public: The Rogue River from Foster Bar to Lex's Landing will be closed from 12:45 pm to apprixmately 2:00 pm or when the designated sweep boat passes. Monday, May 19 9:00 am Gold Beach to Foster Bar Rogue River 32 miles Leg 3 Drivers meeting 8:00am at Lex’s Landing Leg 3 will begin at 9:00am in Gold Beach with mass starts of boats traveling upstream to Foster Bar. Starting position will be determined overall fastest time from fastest to slowest regardless of class. The staging area will be marked in accordance with the dock at Lex’s Landing. The upstream end of the dock will mark the start line and the downstream end of the dock will mark the rear of the staging area. Buoys will be place parallel to the dock ends in the river to create an entire staging area box. The finish line at Foster Bar will be marked with appropriate buoys.
